The young fashionistas at West Potomac Academy Fashion Design gave us more than just an amazing show. From the garments, to production, to the hosts, to the celebrity models (Isis and Bianca Golden from ANTM) - this show proved that they were indeed 'Runway Ready'. What we were most impressed by was that the students are involved in the planning, promotion and production. Although on most days "school" fashion shows really aren't our thing, we decided that we couldn't judge a book merely by its cover. Thanks to Maggie Francois, these students were taught well - great garments + marvelous models (they left out the 7 twists, 14 turns, and the dreaded choreography) = one hella show. With special uber fab guest designers like EmoreJ Couture and Betsey Johnson our fashion high was on overload.

 

If you missed this show lucky for you every year the Fashion Design Department produces a professional caliber fashion show that captures the energy and excitement of the fashion industry.

 

The seniors are required to complete a senior collection project in which they create a professional portfolio and create the concept and garments for an original fashion collection. Our favorite was ... well you will have to wait and see. We've got a project brewing with one talented designer from West Potomac Academy Fashion Design.
